Both of my teams won today. biggrin

Brazil and Spain in the final. Brazil taking home the cup. That's how it's going to be.

I've got to say that Brazil deserved to win against a dispirited, disjointed and ultimately disppointing England side today. Where was the passion and spirit we played with v Argentina. Someone should have told Scholes he was actually in the Q-Finals of the World Cup, not on the training pitch.

Also - not one to be bitter, but I have to say I have never seen such an unsporting and disruptive Brazil side b4. It really lets them down - they have too much skill to have to resort to cheating...

I agree it was so weak. Most of the game seemed to just drift by,and England were catatonic at times, though it was the quickest 90 minutes i have every seen. Brazil were fantastic and thoroughly deserved to win.

As for Germany if they win the world cup it will be a disgrace. They kinda remind me of Argentina in 1990, remember them?! They got to the final by playing not a good game of football, The USA were damn good today, if only England could've had some of their passion.

You see James this is just a typical example of english ignorance. You have no idea, no comprehension of how patronising the english media are. There’s nothing wrong with optimism & getting behind your country. What happens in england is unhealthy, scary even. I’m so glad I don’t live or work in england, I’m glad I’m not in a holiday resort like my brother full of english because I’d have genuine fears for my safety or anyone who isn’t english. The english patriotism is very aggressive, hence the large amount of anti-english feeling from around the world, also your ignorant & arrogant attitude adds to your unpopularity also.
Perhaps now the world cup coverage on TV can actually talk about the game in hand, e.g. Spain v S.Africa, program starts at 7:00, 25 mins of england talk, 2 mins of the actual game. Same again at half-time and full-time, how infuriating. Maybe now we can get some decent coverage. No doubt these bastards will still manage to talk about england.
I don’t think anyone can argue with today’s result, Brazil where far superior in every aspect. biggrin

I'd just like to congaratulate the US team on a fabulous albeit ultimately unlucky performance against the Germans in the greatest sporting tournament on earth.I ts a pity however that their insular looking press, and the general public in the states couldnt give a rats!!Thats what you get i suppose when your national sport is a bloody kids game (i.e rounders).Hard luck England. If that was the irish you would have bet they would have scored an equaliser in the second half!! Thats for sure!

Bullshit. The TV channels on terrestrial etc at least are localised to the individual regions anyway. And don't forget that BBC stands for BRITISH broadcasting corporating (not English Broadcasting Corporation actually, it wouldn't work).

You Scotts make me laugh!!!

You all say that its the media that pisses you off, going
on about 66 n all that. I agree. fucks me off aswell.
Now, if Scotland had ever won the World Cup, got to the final, semis...shit, the second round!!! Then thats what you would compare too every time you played in the World Cup!!!

The one and only Scottish football act on the World Stage that you can dredge up, compared to England's 66 win, semi-final, and 5/6 quarter finals, is one goal by Archie Gemmel...that's it...one goal! That's your world stage pedigree!!

His point is jockass that if Scotland actually ever did anything of note on the world football scene, which will never happen, the arrogance, boasting and nationalsim of the Scots fans, people and media would be just as much as England or any other country for that matter.

The truth of the matter is you have nothing to be proud or arrogant about so you resort to slagging us off just because we get behind our team that, unlike yours, can actually compete at the world level.

Get used to cheering for other teams in world cups cos I seriously doubt a Scottish team will ever make it again.

Why do Scotsmen lie sheep on their backs when the fuck them?
So they can kiss them as well of course.

scott npg is your typical full of shit scots man, who would rather support a team out of his home nation .It is a classic case of scottish ignorance who cannot bear to bring himself to support a country who have done great things for scotland by dragging them out of the dark ages and into the 21st century.Scotland home of the brave, I dont think so,you wernt brave enough to get into the world cup so stick your scottish patriotism up your arse and go fuck yourself, so sad little individual,if had been scotland in the quarter finals all of ENGLAND would have been cheering you on, so get a life and stop being a cunt. from an english supporter

Guybarker, I TOTALLY salute you.

I'm Scottish and I'm sick to the backteeth of attitudes like the ones ScottNPG is demostrating toward the English. All Scotland ever wants to do is sit and whine about how England has fucked them up the asses all these years. How they're SO indepedent. If we're so independent, why the hell are we all reading the trash the Daily Record feeds us and bleating on about how the English don't give a flying fuck about Scottish interests. What do you expect? Scotland doesn't give a shit. Why should England?
My closest friends are English and I'm ashamed to even bring them to this country because all its full of is mindless bigotry against the English. The "Auld Enemy"... ROTFL, if you hate England, vote SNP and get the fuck out. On second thoughts, lets put all of them on the islands and leave the mainland for the folk with IQs higher than their weekly pocket money count.
As for football... please, football to a Scot in the Central Belt is just "are you a Proddy or a Tim?". Its not about football. Its about territory, Scotsmen trying to be Irishmen or waving around a Union Jack flag whilst their Sunday Mail spits on the concept of a Royal Family. I grew up in Glasgow and thats ALL you see. ScottNPG will probably reply to this with some bullshit about "its not all like that..." Erm, it is. Thats all its about. I feel sorry for the odd fan who isnt interested in the sectarianism of the game because thats all they get.
If it makes you English feel any better though, all he's displaying is the typical attitude of a bitter Scot whose read too many Daily Record back copies, who can't accept that Scots are BRITISH and that the only Scot who'll ever get beyond the first round of the World Cup is the fucking referee.

I agree 100%, though tactically Brazil played a poor match.

- Well, if Brasil played a poor match, England was extra-poor because they couldn´t shoot the ball to the goal during the whole second time. They preferred to throw theirselves in the area to pretend it was fault and won the game by penalty.
England was very good on the Cup, but definitely not in this game.

Thank you!

What many Scots don't realise is history. Before Scotland and England, there was a joint land, lived in by the Picts, the Britons and the Saxons. The Picts were a minor tribe, the Britons (what is now the English and Scottish) were the larger tribe, and the Saxons were from Europe.

Then, in the 200 AD, the Celtics invaded Caledonia (the highlands) and forced the locals south, to roughly the current border.

The Celtics pushed south (tried to envade England), but the Britons and Saxons would not give in and pushed back to claim their homeland. They lost, and became the English. Over hundreds of years, they fought back until they gained control.

This is not some crap, look at the web sites from both sides of the border.

The fuuny thing is, many Scots talk about their "Celtic brothers" in Ireland, when in fact they should be refering to them as their enemy, rather than their true brothers in England.

Fact: the "English" treated the Scots like shit, and that is what has been recorded in history.

Fact: The "Scottish" opposed to the English come from the Celtic (Irish) side.

Fact: The English and Scottish were only trying to unite a nation which was taken from them by the Irish.

Fact: If you are truely a Scot, then you are a Pict, a Briton, or a Saxon, but not Celtic.

If you ever wondered how the Celtic and Rangers "problem" came about, long before orange, then look to the history.

I'm not trying to make anyone the enemy, I just wish people would get eductated.

Think about it. Either you are an Island or you are not. How many "Scottish" think England and Scotland should be independant, yet think Ireland should be re-united?

Double standards, clouded by a raised hatred for England?

No?

The Scottish and the English were the original inhabitants of "Britain" and were invaded but the french, the scandanavians and the Irish, and the land was re-shaped.

We fight, when in fact, we are the same.

Please give me your views.
