"Silicon" - Nine Inch Nails or Skinny Puppy "Erotic City" - Michael Jackson "Gett Off" - The Red Hot Chilli Peppers "Around The World in A Day" - Peter Gabriel "if I Was your Girlfriend" - Bowie Bob George by Tricky - now that's a great idea. Irresistible Bitch by Tricky would be great too. Although, I'm not sure about Silicon as a NIN cover - I just don't think Trent would want to sing such silly lyrics. There could be great potential though for a NIN version of a Prince track. The "Opal" remix of Head Like A Hole features samples from Release it (well, technically - Trent sampled Prince sampling Tower of Power) and also Tambourine. Trent does have a funky edge though. How about NIN covers of "Let's Pretend We're Married", "Pheremone" and "Come" (Original Version), or even "Loose" Wow - the more I think about this the more I think that NIN covers alone of Prince's music would be a great thread. I think I'd like to hear Bowie also do the "The Ballad of Dorothy Parker" - or just about anything off SOTT. Even "Slow Love" would be a great Bowie cover. I have an MP3 somewhere of Marilyn Manson doing "1999".

on the flip side, you could have Prince doing a NIN cover: "Closer to Jehovah"...

Yeah, u got me thinking about this one. Surprised nobody else has weighed in. What do you find silly about "Silicon"? I still have no idea what that song's about. I was thinking more about the sound effects and studio tricks he was working on that one. Here's more: Gold - Elton John I Hate U - Fiona apple The truth - Tracy Chapman Now - Rage Against The MAchine Billy Jack Bitch - Bobby Brown (sounds like him anyway) Ripopgodazippa - Steel Pulse Thunder - Beck

I was thinking more about the sound effects and studio tricks he was working on that one. I just think the words are silly and very un_Trent - all that shit about "dead blood".. it's a little too vegan-cum-JW for me.. but hey.. that's just me... Still, NIN could do something interesting with "Let's Work". I'd like to see Steve Vai do Bambi. I'd also like to hear his take on the solo for "Shhh!" I think Bobby Brown could do "Acknowlegde Me" - I always thought that sounded like his kinda thing. I'd like to hear Tool cover something too.. "What's My Name" perhaps? Needs to be something bottom-heavy. I'd like to hear BT do a cover or a remix of "The Human Body".

Beastie Boys - "Dead On It" - just think about that for a minute

Steve Vai I could handle doing any guitar heavy, solo oriented Prince song. The guy's a witch with the axe, but not nearly the songwriter that Prince is. "The Question of U" or "Alexa De Paris" could work.
I've heard about a "Prince tribute" CD that includes Ice T covering "Head" and other tunes by other people I can't recall. Anybody know the record I'm thinking about? I think somebody once covered "Raspberry Beret"...REM?...or some band that invloved them? And, finally, what the f**k Is "Silicon" about? I like the song but can't penetrate its meaning...vegetarianism? Come on, y'all, what else? This IS fun trying to think up stuff...

I always thought Prince would do a great cover of Janes Addiction, "Been caught stealing".
I would like to hear Janes addiction cover "Annie Christian". I think a nu metal band will do "Annie Christian" some day and it will rock. Don't be surprised if Marilyn Manson picks up on it. .

"The Sensual Everafter" performed by Sigur Ros would be cool. at least 10 minutes or so (i like long extended songs...).
"Wasted Kisses" or "Sometimes It Snows In April" performed by the Cure... to me his two saddest songs. [This message was edited Fri Jun 21 10:03:55 PDT 2002 by aprilspearl]
