a fun pair of movies! 'basquiat' is a fantastic film about one of my favorite artists, not to mention it has fun performances by parker posey, courtney love and david bowie (as andy warhol, no less). one of my favorite biopics, definitely.

Houston is THEE biggest Prince supporter outside of Minny Apple. I used to live there and they used to dedicate complete marathons to him on the radio. They ALWAYS play his stuff and he's ALWAYS scheduling a concert there.

nod The NPG members I've talked to always rave about the great reception they get here in H-Town. He has a huge fanbase here.

I really want to see Basquiat. The thought of David Bowie, Gary Oldman, Christopher Walken, Dennis Hopper and Willem Dafoe in the same movie gives me a bit of a chubby.

Still remember hearing The Black Album on Majic 102 back when it was straight bootleg.

H-TOWN has always loved Prince. Since the beginning! We had no idea that the rest of the country wasn't grooving to Prince until around 1999. We were all Prince fanatics since Dirty Mind. Hofheinz Pavillion was like Prince headquarters back in the day. Majic 102 is about the only station that still plays Prince. Okay KRBE 104 and 96.5 too. But the rest have abandoned his badness. But his fanbase is as strong as ever....

I don't have the Sundance channel, but I'm planning on renting it on my next trip to the video store.
