Prince should retire

To Florida, or Canda if they'll let him in. Judging by his new "joint" it seems he is devoid of all funk and a catchy tune. Gone are the days when you could spin the latest Prince LP 50 times and still feel the funk, these days we get releases like 2004's Snoozeology and a rather bland tour.

It's time for him to delve into the vault and dig up some funky stuff

yawn

Couldn't agree more. He should bow out gracefully with his legacy intact

I think some of Prince's fans should retire.

We get it. Some of y'all don't like his shit anymore. Get over it and move the hell on.

maybe he wants to pull a lionel richie and go from funk to adult contemporary.

stevie did the same thing.

though from what i hear from a painfully reliable source, the album as a whole has some kick-ass stuff on it.

You always have the option of retiring as a fan. But if you decide to stay around, ya might be eating those words when the album comes out.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

see i have a feeling that this is a "calm before the storm" thing going on with this. most of the time, the 2nd single is the main single that really sets things off, i.e. Mariah Carey and Gwen Stefani. i have a feeling that he'll come out hard and swinging with the next single, at least i hope.

I wish I could but I can't.
I still have two years to go .
Then I'll be able to retire

because the people who mod this site are volunteers and do the best they can, despite having to deal with silly things like jobs and families.

...and I really appreciate that, Anx. It wasn't my intent to be harsh to anyone, I was just irritated as the "cleaning" of M & M was pretty efficient recently. biggrin

i don't think you were being harsh, but i do think people forget sometimes that the mods do this completely as volunteers, and as such we're not always on top of every glitch or inconsistency that pops up on the site.

that said, it's always helpful when users can take advantage of the 'report post to moderator' button and help us keep the threads clean. it's not just for reporting flames or trolls - if you see a duplicate thread, you can report those too.

Plus, if he reties, you would have no more bootleg claim to fame.

prince should do whatever he wants, he's already proven all he needs to prove. anything from here on out is gravy, unless he gets a wild hair up his butt to one up himself in some way we haven't speculated upon. whatever he does, it's not gonna change our lives for the worse, so friggin' relax already. nod
