Prince Inks With Universal For New CD

Prince has inked a deal with Universal for the release of his next album, "3121." The set will be preceded by the single "Te Amo Corazon," the video for which stars actress Mia Maestro ("Frida," "The Motorcycle Diaries") and was directed by actress Salma Hayek.

The clip, which was shot in Marrakesh, will be available online Tuesday (Dec. 13) via Prince's NPG Music Club site. A press conference in Los Angeles is scheduled for that evening.

"3121" is the follow-up to Prince's 2004 studio set "Musicology," which was issued via a one-off deal with Sony's Columbia label. The album debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200.


That release was supported by a lavishly praised tour which drew nearly 1.5 million people and grossed $90.2 million, according to Billboard Boxscore. Prince is expected to return to the road sometime next year.

i wouldn't expect anything...i wouldn't even necessarily expect him to be there.

I noticed amazon.com has a release date for the cd singe set for December 20, 2005??? No single??

I did think he did a 3 song set at the Rave one in NYC.

I am ecstatically happy 2 hear that Prince is releasing his new albulm and having another tour 4 next year. U just have 2 love the man 4 his incredible versitility and spunk. I am so licking my chops about the prospect of P being on tour again next year. I can't wait Now all have to do now is start preparing my husband (since he wasnt to happy about my going to 2 musicology concerts) Time to pull out all stops to win him over

I hate when Prince has new stuff out or a concert in the works. That means that I have to get all "agro" over how many dates I'm going to attend. Will I see the shows in L.A. or Sacramento as well. I also have to try to find out where the afterparty is going to be at (headache). Now I have to find out what the outtakes of the new album are and where to get them.


It's a huge headache for me.....
