Yes, he does think that and so do a lot of other orgers. Who are not dealing with reality. W&L have not been successful as solo group and I have not been impressed with anything they have done since they stopped working with P.

I and a lot of funk fans feel they messed up P's music with ATWIAD and Parade.
P lost so many fans when he went that route. I feel like all the stuff he has done without them has been much better and yes I love RnB and Funk and so does most of the music buying population. Since RnB and Rap are the pop music of today.


W&L are okay to work with on a one off song but not to bring back into the fold.

It's funny, I was thinking starting a thread about who, out of Prince or Wendy and Lisa, were the more influential in music today. Of the music I hear there is an obvious Prince camp, mimicking and apeing all he did, but, if you listen closely, there are examples of Wendy and Lisa everywhere, from the new Fiona Apple album to an album I dug out a couple of days ago for the first time in years, Living Colour's Time's Up. Prince's influence is in your face, W&L's influence appears in structure and chord in songs that just blow you away.

I agree with this thread. Prince was at his strongest with the two girls pointing out the errors, when he made them, and embellishing the super-creativity when he got it right.

No I don't think Prince should 'beg' Wendy and Lisa back. Because he made some great shit before and after they partnered up with Prince even though Prince lost his edge some in the 90s, and I DONT think that has any to do with W&L's absence. The sound they brought to the table was like experimental, but different doesn't always sound better but still they were good at what they were hired for as a guitarist and keyboardist.

Irontically ATWIAD and also Parade, the two released albums W&L participated the most happened to be my least fav Prince 80s album, and a lot of people who listened to Prince pre-Purple Rain agreed.

Again that doesn't take away from them being great musicians. But still I wasn't feeling on their solo efforts either and I was turn off of their albums but I liked Are you my baby and that is their funkiest song in my book. Ironically the song didn't do too bad in the R&B charts back in '89.

He needs to get with Brownmark to get that bass back in some of his songs that I missed. Or Dr. Fink who add some funky synestizers in the early years. And even Sheila E, who can outperform almost any drum player that I can think of. Overall Prince doesn't need anyone because he makes great music alone and he wants to make music that makes him feel good.

Do I want Prince to work with W&L again. Yes but like one or two songs and they better be funky or something that makes me groove. But I want for him to reunite with Andre or Brownmark, Mico Weaver, Dr, Fink, and Dez even more.

i agree he should beg them to work with him, he should even be humbled to get back with the revolution!!!
