From 1995-99, pretty much every album debuted with a ballad/softer track:
The Gold Experience was launched with "I Hate U" (or "TMBGITW", depending on how you look at it). Chaos and Disorder was launched with "Dinner With Delores"...not exactly a ballad, but nothing heavy-hitting, either. Emancipation was launched with "Betcha By Golly Wow". Newpower Soul was launched with "The One". Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic was launched with "TGRES"...again, not too soft but not too hard. | |
