When the Lights Go Down ... I can listen 2 it on 3-peat every day of the week and never get bored with it.
Perfect 4 a summer evening's: * cruise around the city * dance with your old, jazzy, "cat-daddy" uncle at a family picnic * first whiff of KNOWING that the object of your eyes' attraction will rain down significance in your life I dig songs that create images. This one has a kaleidoscope-full.

Hands down, it's gotta be "Uptown".
I have always longed to hear Prince do it live, imagine the smile on my face when he opened with it on the "Hit & Run" tour last year! Ahh, I could've died a happy man but then I would have missed hearing him do "I Wanna Be Your Lover" which is my second favourite! Who's the private d*ck that's a sex machine to all the chicks?

Probably "She's Always in my Hair".
That one had it all. It's funky, it's got the guitar licks and the solo, the studio wizardry (listen close and there are 2 vocal tracks), cool lyrics, nice vocals. That song cemented his genious in my mind as a Purple Rain follow up. Better than ANY song on ATWIAD. | |
