Who got there Prince bootlegs from Napster, when it was around.

Well i did wink I mean i got almost every rumoured Prince bootleg, it was very expansive. I miss it sad those bureaucrats knew it was gettin big. But what made me angry, is dat napster was 4 the music community, and it was the only way 2 get songs, u would never otherwise have the chance 2 listen 2. So in a way it was promotin the artists.

It was interestin, dat this goung guy in college set it up and it became the biggest music exchange on the internet. I heard he could have made millions, but he didn't get a dime sad

Didn't BMG or some record company pay about $8 million for Napster's site and system after Napster filed for bankruptcy? That couldn't hurt the wallet.

Yeah! I got tons of stuff off Napster when it was working. It's a shame that it's not around anymore, but you should try Kazza.com for your stuff now.

Didn't make a dime? Shawn Fanning is doing VERY well.

I had over 6 gigs of prince music (mostly boots) from Napster before its demise...then my PC crashed and I lost about 90% of it...it was a Sad and Dark day for me cry ...and it seemed to last for a month...my counselor says I'm making great progress...they'll let me outta here in another 6 months or so.

Yeah, I got most of my bootleg stuff from Napster, up through some of the High tracks. I think the last songs I downloaded from Napster before it shut down was When Eye Lay my Hands on U and Underneath the Cream. Those were the days...

Of course, then I hoped onboard to Audiogalaxy for the past year and a half or so, and got tons more bootlegs from it. Now they are going away too.

I got a shit load of songs from Napster. Then I went to Morphus til they too got messed with, and now I'm on WinMX. It seems to be the best and easiest so far.

I was partly wrong. Bertelsmann Music Group wanted to buy out Napster at a very high price at one point (about $400 million if I remember correctly), but for some reason the deal fell through. Recently they've come to an agreement with BMG that allows Fanning and his co-founder (I can't remember his name) to continue the company. From what I understand they have the technology ready to continue file sharing, but they're still trying to come to an agreement with the major labels because it will be a subscription service once they get the go-ahead. So, although BMG hasn't bought them out for $400 (although it's still a partnership with BMG), Fanning & Co. can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Who didn't get all there Prince tracks from Napster i'm jus pissed that i din't get to keep the 1983 First Avenue and 1981 City Lights Performances those were out of sight.

But, i did manage to keep most of my tracks in the end as the files i had were huge and i had to delete some a majority of the files due the hard drive overload

Keeping 6 Gigs of mp3's on ur computer is not a smart thing to be doing...

As soon as I have enough mp3 boot albums to burn onto a CD I do it and clear up my computer space, as of now I have over 80+ CD's each containing about 5 or 6 albums each

I spent WAY TOO MUCH time collecting this shit to lose it in some dumbass computer fuckup.

Come on
Even Kodak Gold or Silver/Gold CD's
(Arguably the best storage CD) cost less than 50 cents each - How cheap can you be if you can't afford that ?
You can buy a pack of Kodak Silver/Golds for under US$25 anywhere

Well ...

oh my favourite boot song would probably be 'Work that fat'
Best boot album - hmmm - maybe 'I Am The Undertaker' or 'Live at the Rex 93'

.

It was sometimes fun trying to guess which of your "very rare" Prince downloads were fakes... Remember the supposed Prince/Kim Bassinger outtakes for example... (Mind you I still couldn't bring myself to delete them!!)
