Those of you who have Children OK, let's say Prince was smoking a joint or something and he asked you if you had children.
"what are their ages?" "WHich one of my albums would you NOT allow them to listen to. Why?"

I would tell him every1.
My son has been going to your concerts since he was three and as a parent saw nothing wrong with your music. I had to look at you in a different As a parent I have no regrets, just praise and Thank U for your beautiful music.

I'd tell him there are some songs of his that I don't let my kids listen to at their age, but since there's plenty of song of his that I do let them listen to, they get their daily recommended servings of funk.
Then I'd tell him to open a damn window cause the blunt is stinkin up the place. I'm firmly planted in denial

Prince,
my oldest has heard all of your music that I have by now, my youngest is still to young to hear Head and Sister, but later at about 13 I'll let her hear those too. I eagerly await the conversation that will follow and damn! put that damn blunt out teaching moment edit We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. I find Nothing wrong with Prince's Music. Maybe Sexy MF would be out. The edited version would be played instead.

I don't have children but if I did I see nothing wrong with letting them listening to any Prince songs. Not even his nastier stuff like "I wanna melt with u" or "Erotic City" They have to grow up sometime. Sex really isn't something that should be hidden from children anyway. What is the big deal?

Well, my boy is six and loves Your music (as we sip chai tea). I will not let him listen to certain songs though like Sexy MF or anything with cursing mostly in the chourus. Funny story though, I was cleaning and was playing the Hits2 cd and 'Head' came on. So I am sweeping the floor jammin when I turn around and see my son singing and dancing in the living room. I reach for the remote to politely skip the song when I realize he was actually singing "Yeah" as the chorus and not Head. I got a good laugh and let it play. There are so many other songs he has screwed up the lyrics to (and to his benifit) that I sing them that way now also. Shake....shake, shake, shake.

My 9 yr old loves S.O.T.T the movie. "Beautiful Night" is his favorite song. He loves to sing and dance to the music. Thank God he hasn't hit puberty yet because he really doesn't notice the way Cat and Sheila E are scantilly clad. He also likes some of the music from other Prince cd's I've let him listen to, But like you other parents, I also monitor what he listens to. No "Erotic City" "Sexy MF" "Head" etc.
