Fan Pleaser/Money Maker: Make Vault Available on MP3 If Prince and his management had a clue they would make a portion of his famous song vault available for MP3 download on his website. Set up a sizable song store and release some of his imporant stuff. Not just the "teaser" crap he has available right now. I mean open a download store and make available stuff that everyone has salivated over for years. It's just collecting dust right now and there is virtually no chance of Warner Bros releasing 95% of what is in there. Here's some suggestions:
1. Make available your better songs from the vault. I know there have to be some song gems that "just missed" making it to the final project. I know record companies keep it down to 15 or less tracks most of the time and I sure that there has to be some good shit from PARADE, PURPLE RAIN, 1999, LOVESEXY, etc. that just missed making to the final album because of the number of tracks Warner Bros would settle for. Prince used to record almost year round and I know there are good songs in that vault. 2. Search for those tracks written/recorded for and by other artists that never made it to the final cut. I know that there are at least two unreleased tracks Prince recorded with Sheena Easton; "Jaguar", "Come Back 2 Me" that never made it to her "The Lover In Me" album. RELEASE THEM for MP3 download!!! Her fans would cream for that stuff!!! Same is true for Chaka Kahn, Sheila E., Patti Labelle, Wendy & Lisa, Sheila E., etc..... 3. Have your management issue a press release to all major media outlets; "Prince to make his song vault available for download". It would be huge!!! I'm serious!!!!!

Repo Man's got all night, every night.

Ditto - although they weren't ready to do a 3-CD set either . . . I think times have changed - the norm used to be around 10 songs per album, now it's more like 16. As for the Vault, I don't even want Prince to toy with MP3/downloads on this. Too many people have been waiting TOO long for CD-quality Vault stuff!
