Does Prince have his own "star"???

When I moved to California in the early 90s, my biggest thing was to finally go to Hollywood and find Prince's "star" on the hollywood walk of fame . . . but, I COULDN'T FIND ONE (and STILL can't)!!!!! I know he wasn't (isn't) a big 'cinema' star, but, there are PLENTY of other celebs with stars that haven't accomplished 1/2 as much as our dear purlpe-one has in entertainment. So, my question is . . . DOES OUR STAR HAVE A STAR?? And if so, WHERE?? And if not, WHY NOT!!??!! sad
Whatever u heard about me is true, I change the rules and do what I wanna do; I'm in love with God, He's the only way; cause u and I know we gotta die someday; you think I'm crazy, ur probally right; but I'm gonna have fun every motherf***in' night!"

I'm not sure if there's any truth to this rumor but I once heard they were considering giving Prince a star on the Walk of Fame until he decided to change his name into the symbol. I believe it was given to Duran Duran instead.

This has been discussed many times before. Basically, the stars are self-bought - you have to okay it with some sort of committee, but if you're famous or rich enough, you're likely to get one if you request it and you or some company on your behalf stumps up the necessary cash. It's not an award for accomplishments or anything.

Put in that light, don't you think having a star is kind of meaningless? It's just a blatant act of self promotion, 'look at me, aren't I famous?' I guess Prince has never felt the need to show off like that.

I think he should bypass the stars - and just have a gold statue of himself built instead...

It used to be a prestige thing, but no longer. Once you've got a name like Ryan Seacrest on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, ALL value, if it ever had any, is destroyed.

Getting him in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was all I cared about, and that's done, so nothing else matters.

well, in her defense she does not spend her life on the org, now the only way any artist to get a star on the hollywood walk of fame is to buy one, yes they dont give it to you, you have to literally buy one.the only way they give you a star on the walk of fame is the artist dies and the estate of that artist chooses to have one placed they will.

Correct...To go even further, usually when a celebrity receives a star nine times out of 10 it's brought by that star's official fan club...But as you so accurately pointed out, you only receive a star if you sign off on it...And Prince has not and probably will never sign off...
