No, but we've done that discussion. Best buried I think wink

I used to work in Irvine! I saw a woman peeing in the middle of the footpath on my first day! Later on in the year two neds ran past me with rifle bags and hid in some bushes! And somebody attempted to blow up a local ATM to get the cash out.

Jalokin "only because Portugal played such a rotten first half" You sound like the whining Mexico coach who complained that the "US didn't allow us to play we should have won we were the better team but they didn't want to play...whine...whine...whine"

Part of the game is not allowing your opposition to play they way they want to.

They played well against Mexico and deserved to win and the disgusting display by the Mexicans towards the end of the game and after was disgraceful, glad they lost.

US v Germany is 6:30AM Friday morning Nep seeing as the dummies gave you Euro times.

SaxJedi-glad to see your still living vicariously through our fine England squad.

GET THIS! The Korean guy who scored the golden goal against italy has been effectively sacked from his Italian club!

Sore losers! What Bastards.

"Perugia have decided not to renew the contract of Ahn Jung-Hwan, the South Korean midfielder whose golden goal knocked Italy out of the World Cup.
Ahn Jung-Hwan, who missed a penalty earlier in the match, was hailed as a national hero in Korea when he headed home the winner in the 116th minute of the second round match.

Perugia chairman Luciano Gaucci linked the non-renewal of Ahn Jung-Hwan's contract to his role in Italy's defeat.

"That gentleman will never set foot in Perugia again," club chairman Luciano Gaucci told sports' daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"He was a phenomenon only when he played against Italy.

"I am a nationalist and I regard such behaviour not only as an affront to Italian pride but also an offence to a country which two years ago opened its doors to him.

I have no intention of paying a salary to someone who has ruined Italian soccer."

What is this going to do to foriegn footballers?

??? sad

Senegal players face MASS unemployment then. smile

French teams will turf them out in anger... saying that Liverpool seem to be signing them all up so that's ok.

Fadiga is one of my favourite World Cup players thus far and he'd be more than welcome to join Sheffield Wednesday.

Reminds me of Maradona, when after the 1990 World Cup where Argentina put Italy out, he got so much abuse from fans when playing his final season for Napoli. He even got loads of abuse from Napoli fans. Such a shame, as he pretty much single handedly won them the league a few years before.

That is despicable... isn't it unfortunate that he could react in such a way... while it shouldn't surprise me, I still can't believe that kind of attitude... how off-putting... instead of looking at Italy and how they played and placing responsibility there, they look to punish Jeong-Hwan...it's ludicrous.. well, if that's their attitude, he's better off without them. He won't be short of offers from elsewhere.

Yeah, we sold our training ground and have scrapped reserves for upcoming season. They practice on public football field now with half deflated balls.

Sadly my comment about Fadiga joining is very much now made in the cause of irony.

Agreed - totally out of order. Isn't there a case for discrimination there?

npgsmfc - being a Yorkshire lad (though, now living in London), Sheffield Wed. have always been my team. Gone are the days of Premiership football though, Im afraid. When they were managed by the likes of Howard Wilkinson and Ron Atkinson, they were superb. I can't see them returning to that sort of form next season...

Although, like I said... I think their attitude is completely disgusting on the issue, it should be noted perhaps that his place in Perugia wasn't exactly cemented in stone was it?! He had only played about 3 matches for them, and it was conveyed before the world cup that he was sort of on trial and that they were making up their minds about him... so he might not of stayed on anyway... but that is just an aside... the chairman is making it about hwan sending Italy home with that golden goal.. which of course shouldn't be a reason to kick him out the club.

Brazil will beat England
Turkey will beat Senegal
Spain will beat South Korea
Germany will beat USA

Brazil will beat Turkey
Spain will beat Germany

Turkey will beat Germany

Brazil will beat Spain

Anybody got a better guess?

That's a shame. Sheffield Wednesday were always (and still are) a big club. They should be in the Premiership, not fighting to try and stay in the First.

Football is in a terrible state right now. My team has been in serious debt for about 10 years now and I can't really see any quick way out of it. And with this new transfer system coming in, all I can see is the Man Utds, Arsenals, Rangers' and Celtics getting bigger and the smaller ones getting smaller, until they die away.

But I'd gladly lose my money for England to knock Brazil out.

I was referring to the closure of the GD forum, nothing to do with football.

Though I probably wasn't that serious about it, coz I've still been goin' round making rude remarks.
