Pretty close my friend. I love Hits 1 and Hits 2, and most other Prince albums. The difference is, that on other albums, there are only a handful (at most) 'skip' tracks. For me, the B-Sides is a collection of 'skip' tracks. Lay off Jughead though ... it rocks

Casual fans will primarily like the hits which is fine, but there are different depths to one's appreciation. It's not a contest so I don't care if somebody likes NPS or has heard GoldNigga and The War and collects all of the bootlegs, posters, guitars and colognes. These are things I can live without and if that costs me the crown so be it. However, to not like anything on the B-sides says that one's appreciation of Prince's music is either very casual or is limited to specific eras and styles. Does that make one a lesser fan? Yes. A lesser person? ..... That remains to be seen. |
