prince's less known great guitar solos

whola lotta love -roterdame 2002

dolphin-markee london 2002
bambi celebration 2002
knee deep celebration 2004
the ride celebration 2004
bambi rotterdame 2002
fallen(take fave included) rotterdame
the love we make 2004 filmore
footprints filmore 2004
purple rain australia aftershow 2003
...
many many more as you see ,
year 2002 was so great for fans of his guitar playing.
all the songs i named contain guitar solos that are amoung his best.
he cuts loose on guitar so much more in the aftershows
.he realy is one of the best.
so is ernie isley...
on officialy released albums his best guitar solos that are less mentioned are:

time waits for no one-mavis staple(very simply but amazing)

777-9311(yes it;s prince on studio recording not jesse)
five women
a love bizzare studio long version -very nice jazz solo
mountains long version-jazz guitar solo also
once upon a time eric leeds
get it up-the time
get some solo -cream remix

she spoke to me long version

west-in the middle of the 8 minutes he rips into on his best and most passionate guitar solos ever

xpedition -pure fusion jazz

i started this tread because many of these solos are very rarely chosen as example of his best guitar solos in varios best guitar solos tread.
i feel that the real reason is not that these solos are less good then many "popular" solos,
i think it's more for the lack of knowladge that it even exist...

thumbs up!

I still think Xpedition is gravely overlooked by most fans.
this is the best song on Xpectation and it's such powerfull
playing that's being showcased here. I love the groove and
the fierceness of the playing. great, great playing indeed.

Yep! Also that other, don't know the name and really cannot be arsed to look it up, the clean solo. Very nice!

One of my very favorite solos is also from the Nighttown Rotterdam 2002 aftershow. This one NEVER gets mentioned but the passion he shows on Beautiful Strange is breathtaking. You can FEEL the agression in the licks he plays. It's totally wild and raw. Then at one point he has the nerve to scream along with his licks. The whole freaking performance is classic from start to finish.

hmm...the credits aren´t clear about She spoke 2 me version. I would like to believe it was Prince, but it seems that recording was done in the year Levi was still in the band.

Does somebody have info on this?

Am I the only one who digs the guitar parts in "I Will" from Chaos and Disorder? I don't hear that song mentioned too much.

I agree, people are so quick to overlook that album they forget it had moments of brilliance in it. I will is a good song. Even Prince's lesser albums have their moments. i mean I am about to say Come is one of his best albums. Like u I like to listen to and appreciate the more forgotrten stuff. R u Out there?
