Side 2 of 1999 Appreciation Thread This is devoted 2 the awesome booty-shaking power of Side 2 of 1999. I'm talking specifically about the vinyl release, with Let's Pretend We're Married and D.M.S.R. left 2 stretch out and take up the whole side.
At a party a couple weeks ago, I popped that record on the turntable, and people lost their minds. I love the way that LPWM is all frenetic and filled with nervous energy, getting all electrofunky and nasty, b4 going in2 the spoken, spiritual section at the end, and then u don't even get but a second to catch your breath b4 D.M.S.R. kicks in with that mellower (in comparison to LPWM) but equally relentless LM-1 beat. I love the 1999 album, but Side 2 of the record is my favorite part. Once upon a time in a haystack of despair; happiness sometimes hard to find, yeah. | |
