Come outside and play

Does anyone know anything about the song "come outside and play"... Strange voice, acoustic guitar with a funky riff, dark atmosfear... but no damn idea when it has been recorded, and why it has not been released... Or has it been ?

(In kinda the same vibe, why a studio version of "Days of Wild" has never been included to any album ?)

If my english is low range, it iz bicoz it is not my native language... sorry !

Peace and B wild

I've heard the song . . . if I had to guess, I'd say it was recorded between D&P and prince. It's a great song, and would've made a really good single.

It has not been released (yet!)

This song is a leftover from the recording sessions that resulted in the "New Power Generation" Maxi-Single.

It's correct title is just "Play", abd it was recorded in October 1990 during
the NPG Maxi-Single sessions. It was included on an early unreleased
configuration of the NPG Maxi-Single, but was dropped (along with a few other
tracks) from the released version.

The reason a studio version of Days Of Wild has never been released is because
basically they're not good enough. Prince has recorded many versions of this
track, but has always been unsatified with the studio incarnations compared to
the live renditions. The song always seems to kick butt live, but for some
reason the studio versions always sound a little flat by comparison.

There was this bootleg in the early 90´s called Platinum which contained a studio version of it.

It also had the Father´s Song EP by John L. Nelson and some songs from the I´ll Do Anything sessions on it, including the short version of Empty Room.

And one of the older versions of Endorphinmachine.

I agree with Boris on Days Of Wild...most studio versions don´t come close to the live versions.

My favorite version is the one from the Beautiful Experience TV special ..February 1994...that is my personal "original studio version". It´s the BEST version of that song, ever...same with "Now"...

Don´t forget the Days Of Wild live CD, officially released...got it at the celebration 2002..technically it is a "studio" version. lol

"Play" is a cool song, but I think it somehow doesn´t fit on the NPG single..it´s great, but the style is too different.

It has that typical post-Batman sound , but it somehow doesn´t fit on the NPG maxisingle.
