He did put his guitar down. In fact, at one point he put it on a stand and it then fell over as he went to the back of the stage. Due to the set up at 'The New Marquee', Takumi had to come from the back of the stage to attend to guitar duties and to turn the pages of the lyric book.

I suspect that the sunglasses didn't help in spotting how close his head was to the ceiling when he went to the side of the stage on occasions (playing some percussion at one point).

It was short but fierce.

Yep. I know. It was great aftershow. I was lucky and privileged enough to be stood front row centre.

However, Prince did not play drums on 'Tamborine' that night.

He simply sang some of the opening lines before we joined in.

John Blackwell played the drums throughout the hour long performance.

Prince did, however, play the drums to 'Tamborine' several hours earlier at the 'soundcheck' prior to the evening show at the Hammersmith Appollo, whilst awaiting John Blackwell to come on stage.

Cheers!

To be honest, the whole thing is a bit of a blur now - I was just so excited to be going to my first Aftershow, I sort of got lost in the moment. cloud9 Plus, we had a bit of drama trying to get there - basically, we had a car crash confused - that, by the time I got there, I was stoked. lol The next one I go to probably won't be as 'big' an event so I hope to remember more.

It was a tiny venue, though. Wherever you were in the room, you had a great view of Prince and the band. And he looked very cool What really hit home was how accomplished his band are - to come off stage after a two hour gig, then play a tight, unrehearsed, set - it was a phenomenal night. And when I realised he was going to play SOTT omfg A wonderful moment.

I hope he tours next year. pray

I met you that night, too! In the queue waiting to get into the Apollo. (You may not remember, though).

Without a doubt, the ONA tour ranks up there with his best tours of the 80s, IMHO. nod Say what you want about the TRC album, but the ONA tour was NOT to be fucked with.
