I thought Dr. Fink played some of the keyboard solos... I also heard Andre Cymone wrote "Do Me Baby".

Dr. Fink co-wrote the song "Dirty Mind" and played synths on the track; he also played that kick-ass solo on "Head"!!!
Lisa - vox on "Head"; background vox on "Controversy", "Ronnie, Talk 2 Russia" and "Jack U Off". Bobby Z - drums, Lisa & Dr. Fink - keys on "Jack U Off". cool edit [Edited 11/24/05 23:12pm]

'For You' 1978
All instruments by Prince All vocal by Prince All compositions by Prince except "Soft And Wet" (co-written by Chris Moon) 'Prince' 1979 All instruments by Prince All vocals by Prince All compositions by Prince 'Dirty Mind' 1980 All istruments by Prince except synthesiser on "Dirty Mind" and "Head" (Dr Fink). All vocals by Prince except Lisa Coleman (vocals on "Head") All compositions by Prince except "Dirty Mind" (co-written by Dr Fink) 'Controversy' 1981 All instruments by Prince except "Jack U Off" (Bobby Z: drums; Lisa Coleman and Dr Fink: keyboards) All vocals by Prince except Lisa Coleman (backing vocals on "Controversy", "Ronnie, Talk To Russia" and "Jack U Off"). All compositions by Prince. The above is as credited on the albums. ----- There have been claims that very occasionally songs were written, or incorporated contributions by fellow musicians which went uncredited. Dez Dickerson has reportedly said that "Uptown" used a bass line developed by Andre Cymone. There is also a claim reported that "Partyup" was originally a Morris Day song with credit gifted to Prince in return for Prince helping secure the deal for 'The Time' fronted by Morris. Finally, Andre Cymone was reported to have claimed that he had written "Do Me, Baby". It has long been recognised and accepted by most of Prince's former band mambers that ideas generated during their long rehearsal sessions would sometimes emerge in fully-fledged compositions later on. Occasionally, band mates have said that they would have wished for a credit although, generally, they have conceded that such contributions have played but a small part in the resulting composition. The rumours around the origins around "Partyup" and "Do Me, Baby" have never been satisfactorily and conclusively resolved, and I don't recall it was ever alleged that "Partyup" was stolen by Prince. . [Edited 11/24/05 23:40pm] thank you Great post. Just one comment: The deal for The Time was secured in Prince's initial contract that allowed him to produce side projects. Morris Day was given the choice to receive credit (and pay) for Partyup or perform as the lead singer for The Time, which was already in motion during that time (no pun intended). The Time merely needed a frontman since Alexander O'Neil backed out stating something like - If there ain't no money in it, I am not doing it - or words to that effect. The payroll for The Time was really between Prince and the group - resulting in tension developing in the group due to creativity AND money issues.
