Pharrell and Prince Recently I watched an interview on German MTV with Pharrell Williams. Here's the transcript (if I remember correctly):
MTV: Is there any artist you like record/work with? Pharrell: Prince! MTV: You already did a remix for one of his songs . . . Pharrell: Yes, but we haven't met personally yet. I would like to do a song with him. That's it. "Don't hate me 'cuz I'm fabulous!" | |

I LIKE PHARELl. ALOT. He's WAyyy COOL. I Couldn't believe he wrote some old rap song that was SCANDALOUS. Prince would have to be going back to his NPG STYLe if he's gonna be kicking it with PHARELL. I do apologise to yall ...
But I do really like Pharrell's music a lot more than Prince's music for the last 15 years ... those two N.E.R.D. records beat the shit out of every Prince release after LoveSexy ... And Pharrell seems to be a nice guy, and I would't want to spend a whole weekend with Prince, cause he just seems so boring ..... Pharrel's attitude is much cooler and funkier than Prince's ... and Pharrell's music is funkier than Prince's too. Okay, Prince's first 11 albums beat the shit out of Pharrell, but that's 20 year ago today. Face it ... Pharrell rules in the 00's! | |

Gotta agree - Fly or Die is one of the best records of the last few years - OK the musicianship isn't up to P standards - but the music is so damn vital, the songs are great, and it's played with a real passion, and for me they're the things that count in making a good record.
