Good stuff. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Good Lord, these charts confuse me. Are these charts based solely on sales of the released CD of the song and not on airplay? Or is this also including downloads from itunes and NPGMC?
Oh well, it's good news so I'll leave it at that. BTW, has anyone heard the song on the radio? Besides the early play it got on a few stations right after the hurricane, has anyone who listens to radio pretty constantly heard it lately? I emailed my local stations requesting that they play it, but since I listen to mainstream radio so rarely, they could be playing the hell out of it and I wouldn't know it.

I'd love to know how much money this has raised for Katrina relief... I have no idea what ballpark we're in.

Interesting. Since I'm not hearing anything about the Billboard Hot 100 or Pop 100, I'd have to guess that high single "sales" are not as powerful as radio airplay for these charts.

I'm slightly confused. Anyway this is the link [Edited 11/13/05 14:05pm] As one door closes, another opens...

It shows "SST" debuting at #8 on the Hot 100 Single Sales and #40 on the R&B Single Sales. Now the Nov. 19 edition now shows "SST" at #11 on the Hot 100 Single Sales and #20 on the R&B Single Sales for a second week!

The Nov 19 edition shows "SST" @ #22 on the R&B Single Sales Chart (not #20). Sorry!

Single sales are so low these days (everyone downloads instead) that it doesn't take much to break the top 10--I'm guessing a couple of hundred copies if that much. grammar edit [Edited 11/14/05 23:04pm]

Those American Idol singles hog the top of the sales chart. I hate American Idol-made stars. I can't connect with any of their musical material. I guess the flavor of the week is the rule. Instant success, yuk!

A top 10 single? After all this time (1993 was the the last time he went top 10)? Even when Musicology was a 2 million plus seller? That's FANTASTIC!!!!! I knew he still had it in him. Maybe this will be on 3121.
