Prince Guitars I was watching Sign "O" The Times last night, and I really miss the Cloud guitar!
I mean, almost all of my Prince memories involve either the Cloud or the Hohner (but he still uses the Hohner). Even every other picture you find with Prince performing seems to be with the Cloud. I like the  guitar, but to me it doesn't hold a candle to the Cloud, as far as IMAGE alone.
Any reason why he stopped using the Cloud entirely? Or has he? |

I think he still used it quite recently didn't he? I've seen him
use it on the One Nite Alone dvd and I think I saw some pics of the Musicology tour as well where he played a purple cloud??  and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

i never saw him play the cloud last year. I miss it too, but I don't it goes with his new image, where as the hohner (correct me if im wrong with that name) suits him down to a tee. [Edited 12/4/05 7:35am] Keenmeister |

I have actually seen those guitars for sale somewhere. You can own your own for about 1500. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop. | |

The Cloud is my fave also. I don´t remember him using it on Musicology tour (he used the Stratocaster and Hohner mostly) but he used it several times on ONA tour.
They say that Prince gear didn´t change much over the years, but his guitar sound is totally different if you compare his 80s and 90s stuff. Does somebody know if he changed the distortion effect? (I read he used Boss Overdrive and Metal Zone) |

He's had it since at least the ONA tour. He played it a whole lot during the Musicology tour on songs like SHHH... and Question of U. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!! | |

It's not really a strat, It's got humbuckers. It has a tremelo, too. | |
