I don't know. It's not horrible and I dig "Brand new orleans." It gets pretty funky as it goes on. Maybe SST will grow on me, but right now I'm not digging it.

Typical of the NPGMC giveaways. Its a good b side at best. I think many people talk it up more than its real worth, simply because they have been starved of new Prince music for so long.

I haven't felt a Prince single since The Most Beautiful Girl in the WOrld was released.

Its ok but no I didn't think immediately it was super great when I heard it either.

I'm glad he wanted to do something to help out though

sounds confused -- doesn't sound "whole" or complete
could be a great song if it was reworked to stay with a single focus/theme
sounds messy to me -- a few different ideas going everywhere and nowhere

enough with a single here and single there - WE NEED A NEW ALBUM!!!

the ending is great..and so is Brand New Orleans. the song itself was not complex enough to sustain my attention. like most of latter day prince i enjoyed it the first couple times but got bored with it after that.

It's ok, nothing to get remotely excited over. The song's kickoff is catchy stuff, but after that it just settles into a muddled exercise - And that's really all the song feels like... an exercise in a particular style.

It took me about ten listens, now I love it.

There is a genuine passion in his voice, a certain rawness.

I would like to hear it completely acoustic.

Dull as dishwater.

So much of Prince's recent output is shockingly mediocre, it's actually rather worrying that he's satisfied to put it out.

ditto. i wasnt crazy about it. listened to it a couple times, thats it. brand new orleans is good though.

SST was done in less than 24 hours for hurricane relief, so I don't judge it like he spent days plotting its revolutionary musical course. A good song for a good cause, more good craftmanship than sheer genius but the point was to start raising money right away not making new artistic forays or reinventing a genre or two.

Well, after all the praise it was receiving here on the Org, I was pretty disappointed when I finally heard it. I've tried to listen to it several times, but it just does nothing for me.

Now, "Brand New Orleans" is cool. I dig it way more than SST
