Ok, Im watching the Betcha By Golly Wow video now, and I've come to the conclusion that this is the corniest Prince thing I've ever seen!

I still like the video, but why is Prince wearing scrubs and a stethoscope?
Whats up with the fairy dust? and Why is Domonique Dawes playing
a flutaphone like the one I played in 3rd grade?

One that came to mind is when Prince does a leaping pirouette during part of the Lovesexy show, and then he freezes his position with his arms out in front of him right before the lights go black. It makes me laugh every time. The only thing that keeps it from being too cheesy is knowing that Prince wasn't taking himself too seriously when he did all those crazy things during that tour. He was just having fun, making people smile and laugh.

Basically, from GB to today, Prince has been guilty of being cheesy so many times. Not that he wasn't before, but at least it was good cheese.

The Grammy's during the Mayte years....

The two of them basically did an interpretive dance to TMBGIW. He didn't even have a fake mike to lip synch. They just danced around the set. Good god! It was like a high school production with crazy looking set pieces.

I don't know what anyone involved in that show was thinking.

I believe this was filmed around the time that Prince's wife was expecting. That's why he's at the hospital, celebrating the impending birth of their child. As it turned out, the child was born with a fatal malformation, and died shortly thereafter. Care to rethink the use of the word cheesy?

The last few scenes of Graffiti Bridge:


1) Aura gets hit by a car, and the ambulance is there in 2 seconds. I laughed sooooo hard on that. I mean, all I coudl think on retroscpection is that I was glad I wouldn't have to put up with anymore of her annoying ass optimism and poetry.

2) Prince holding a gun as if he's going to commit suicide. I mean, who in the hell dolls themself up that imaculately in a suicidal state. Boy looks like he took 3 hours to dress up.

3) The stupid "Still Would Stand All time" performance at the end where Morris and Prince hug each other. I REALLY WANTED TO DIE DURING THAT SCENE.

I could go on forever, but what trying to say is that we can all try to think of non graffiti bridge momments, but they will all be trumped. Graffiti Bridge is the tour de force of repulsive cheesiness

well, i admit i like the cheesy prince moments. graffiti bridge, under the cherry moon - i thought they were kinda neat. there's a good chance i'm cheesy too.

and come to think of it the ability to stand up and say 'hey! look me over!' is one thing i do love about prince. even when he's pissing me off at times (the moors, TRC) he's still out there, doing his thing. so oddly enough the thing i like best about him is also the thing i dislike most at times.
