Is 2005 P's least productive year since... ever?

I don't own any Uptown publications, but from memory I think it is:

Glasscutter and SST and some jams at his place in LA.

Is that it?

Has he finally retired, do u think?

Eh, I really just think that the guy is taking a much needed break.

The fanboy voice inside me though is convinced that he's working on some Sign O' The Times-esque magnum opus for the 2000s. eek cool

Yeah but his "break" years in the past always resulted in at least a throwaway album, or side-project, didn't they?

It ain't Over !!! (2005 that is !!) lol

from what I understand of Prince, he works relentlessly. He has worked for 27 years with little time out.

give the guy a break and enjoy the magnitude of music you already have. Any new stuff after that is a Bonus !!

you should check out the new kate bush album while you're waiting. it took her 12 years to get it finished. one year for a new prince album is nothing compared to that.

Hey he is getting inspired and living life to allow him to make a great upcoming album. I'd say that is pretty productive. biggrin

I can't tell if releasing a few great tracks like Glasscutter and S.S.T./Brand New Orleans means retirement. I hope not.
Some people have said before that they would prefer fewer albums but better music. Prince might be doing that right now. And, it isn't necessarily unproductivity.

Thgs topic and backwards thinking about P being non productive this year is irritating as the Prince onstage with MJ and James Brown threads

Sorry all (especially 4 bumping a thread that seems like it annoyed a lot of ppl). I haven't been around much lately and didn't know there'd been many threads like this one.
I was asking what I thought was a legitimate question. One of the big attractions of being a P fan has always been how prolific he is - even if you're disappointed you never have long to wait.
OTOH, it makes perfect sense that he may b taking things slower now, and that's cool. Plus, he's often done that after extra-hardworking years ('83, '85, '90, '93). My q was really a comparison one - was this his least productive year? I guess it would've been better 2 wait 4 January 1, but I was bored...

BTW - I was waiting for the '58-'74 gags to come up when I wrote it, but I thought I'd leave the wording so that they would...

So, as I said, sorry to those who were p'd off by my thread (u coulda just ignored it...)
