I have so much respect for Prince for speaking his mind and I'm sure he's got a lot of stick for it over the years.

I think it's harder to look like a goody-goody than be cool and hip and stand there with a cigarette in your mouth.

I don't think it's completely a bad thing but if Prince wants to 'diss ganga' it's his opinion.

If you're so happy with smoking the stuff yourself then why do you have to have a go at Prince for being against it?

Maybe it touches a nerve with you.

You know over the years all I ever hear is how Prince isn't Black enough. Prince isn't white enough. Prince isn't Prince enough..

No wonder the poor bloke is confused. Whatever he does is wrong and seems to upset saomeone.

Give him a break.

He's just a bloke. A human being. He's given us such great music and now we're dissing him because he's anti drugs.

It just seems another excuse for having a go at him for not living up to our expectations.

My point was about his song lyrics being anti-drugs and that's pretty rare in this society and I respect him for having the guts to go against the grain.

That's the main reason I like him.

He wears his heart on his sleeve and you SEE ALL of his failings and insecurities.

That's what makes him such a 3 dimensional popstar and human being.

Not perfect...just a mortal like the rest of us.

AND regarding religion I think it's a totally personal thing and it's up to the individual to make up their own mind.

I think Prince puts out his own views and it's upto us to think 'Yeah that's a great message'

or 'No I don't agree with that'.

I never get the impression that Prince preaches to us through his music.

He just asks questions and makes you think about things.

I always get the impression he's a really open minded person but he does speak his mind so that's going to set him up for critisism.

In life it's easy to sit on the fence and say WHATEVER.

Maybe drugs are okay, maybe they're not WHATEVER...

Maybe staying in school is good, maybe it's not WHATEVER....

EVERYONE has an opinion. You can only have an honest discussion if you speak your mind and try and listen to other peoples points of view aswell.

I think Prince's lyrics are clever. Again I said he doesn't preach he just makes you think and see things from a different perspective.

A lot of what he says makes sense. But no-one is beyond self-doubt and insecurities.

As a kid growing up he helped me because a lot of his music is about being yourself and not following the crowd because you feel like you have to.

I think his music is merely thought provoking.

He does seem to lean AGAINST drugs but I think it's more because he wants people to do other things.

Music, dance, spirituality etc...

Prince doesn't preach, eh? He didn't used to, that's true. But nowadays he's been singing more to the tune of
