None.

The shelves are all bare, but there's a steel garbage can in the center of the vault, filled with ashes and a sign sticking out of it that says "Jehova disapproves."

there is a vault. Trust me, there is a vault with a great deal of unreleased songs that most of us have never heard. The sad thing is, many of them suck and that is why they aren't out. That said, there are a few excellent tracks and maybe we'll get another Crystal Ball, without all the drama behind the scenes!
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Actually, all the tapes have been moved to a warhead in the NPG Missile Silo (that round building at Paisley Park) and will be shot off towards the sun on 12/13/05. nod

"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"

For every "She Gave Her Angels," in this supposed vault, there's about 4 or 5 the likes of "18 & Over" and such.

During the 1st Celebration I asked the tour guide how many completed unreleased albums where in the vault? Answer was around 30 including artwork and completed album configuration but many more songs that did not fit on albums were in the vault and a lot of live recordings.

Paisley from Celebrate to Celibate, maybe the music is suffering from celibacy! 23 positions in a one nite stand to 23 scriptures with Larry Graham.

lol I've heard a lot of theories about what's gonna happen (or not) that day, but this is a new one! Hope someone at PP remembers to get FAA clearance!

Who cares ??? any REAL artist has loads of stuff the public will never get a chance to see/hear....people who "know what to do" have access to at least nearly 1000 of those so called "VAULT" tunes...who needs more than that ???

Sometime I wonder if something like this might actually happen (if it hasn't already). sigh

It's highly unlikely. So, for all intents and purposes, it doesn't exist.

He has made a number of videos for songs that never get released. Prince has a way of getting very excited about a project and making big plans for it, but he gets bored with it before it can come out and he puts it on his shelf. Some of those videos have surfaced, but many of them sit on the shelf waiting for the day.

The bottom line about releasing songs from the vault was hinted by Prince a few years ago. When a reporter asked him about 1999, he commented that it was like 3rd grade to him. Basically, would you like to have some drawings that you did 20 years ago come out after you have learned so much more about creating art? I'd love to hear some of it, but even on Crystal Ball, he altered songs and lyrics before he released them.

Personally, I'd love to hear an album of his demos for other people. Imagine his voice on songs by The Time, Sheila E., Sheena Easton and others. Now that would rock.

Those who don't think a vault exists have never listened to Grafitti Bridge which was almost exclusively vault material.

No, I have. I have heard other songs, too. I'm speaking metaphorically.

Translations:

"There MAY AS WELL be no Vault."

Or, "There likely will be no Vault Experience for Prince's hardcore fans -- at least not the one we've sought for so many years."

Also, he has been recording his concersts since 1981. You know he has all of the best Controversy, 1999, P.R. and Parade shows on Video stored away.

Would that be cool so see some of those perfectly recorded shows or what? cool

Most artists have an archive of songs that are at various stages of completion, Stevie Wonder, Queen, the Beatles (even though thye used most of the ideas they came up with)> What's the big deal?
