As scary as the opening spooky riff by P on "God"? LOL!

Scarier, player.

News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

What does it say? I just played it backwards and I didn't hear anything unusual.

Vain, play the laughter first then it'll segue into "We Don't Like New Wave". When u start it at the end of the laughter, and reverse it, it's no longer laughter, but something else. Then you'll come to the "We Don't Like New Wave" which is Prince, ALONE, saying "Here We Come For You".

I didn't hear it but I'll listen to it again now that I know what to look for. All I heard when I played it backwards was more laughter. Playing it in reverse, the laughter was not in reverse so apparently there is forward and reverse laughter on the track. I also heard what sounded to be a Prince scream. I think that was The Time's screams going backwards though.

WHO ARE HIS OLD FRIENDS FOR SALE? AND is he ALLUDING TO COCAINE USE WITH MORRIS DAY? DID MORRIS HAVE a PROBLEM at the time?

The song also refers to Big Chick, Prince's ex-bodyguard. Chick also had a drug habit, and sold out to the National Enquirer to support his habit. They paid him a chunk of change to give up personal information on Prince, which they turned into a feature story making Prince look like the biggest wacko since Jacko.

Which songs are you thinking? I'm thinking "The sacrifice of victor," and maybe "Pop Life." Any others?

sacrifice of victor? i thought morris had cleaned up his act by around that time.

Yeah, but the lyrics refer back to "Victor's" high school buddies:

Never understood
My old friends laughin'
They got high
When everything else got wrong

Yeah, but he also shows Morris' initials after the line "They got high when everything else when wrong.." in the lyric sheet, check the lyric sheet in the liner notes.

And isn't there someone imitating Morris' signature laugh as that lyric is sung as well? It seems like it is about Morris then.

Doesn't sound at all like Morris's "Waaaah-ha-ha-ha!" It's more like a sluggish/nasally "ehhh heh heh heh."

Hmm? Good point. But it does sound like a Morris-type chuckle to me. Like that would be a chuckle he'd do.

Yeah, Pop Life I can definitely see.

"When the big white rabbit begins to talk and the color green'll make your best friend leave ya...it'll make him do The Walk"

I always thought this was a dig on Morris.

I can't believe - as overly analytical as I am - I always thought this was a generic reference to a best friend.

But the use of 'the walk' obviously signifies Morris.

Wow. Right. Over. My. Head.

Now thinking back about that lyric, I'm not totally sure it IS a diss on Mo'iss. Because after that line, P says "But that's cool!"...so maybe it isn't a coke reference afterall if he's saying "that's cool" unless he's then referencing their songg "Cool"? Maybe he's just acknowledging Mo'iss in just a cool passing way...then again, he could be saying "that's cool" meaning one day Mo'iss will return to the fold. Ok, nevermind. Fuck! eek biggrin eek

Man, has anyone else heard this? Can someone give me a link to that song (if it's not a bootleg) so I can try to hear this?
Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see
I can be in a park, or flying in the…in the deep sea
I wish u’d hold my hand; then everything could b
