I realise that there will be little if not no response to this question, but i was curious. I mean, i dont really know how he is with his fans on a 1 2 1 basis.

Wowugotit

My friend won a radio station contest and Prince in a meet/greet setting prior to a concert performance. I sat in a reception room while she went in to meet him and his people (this is 2000 or 2001). She said he was tiny. She hugged him and he flinched like it scared him. She apologized and he said 'it's okay'. She gave him a Sheena Easton FABULOUS post card I had given her to give him that promoted Sheena's latest Universal International CD. He looked at it and smiled then put it in his pocket. My friend asked him for somthing to drink (she's a crazy bitch) and he motioned to a large body guard who brought a big plastic trough of drinks for her to choose from. She then told him she listened to a 45 LP of "When Does Cry" on her Winnie The Pooh record player for a whole year. He laughed then moved on.

I've had two.. without REALLY talking.

First was June 2001 at the Xcel Center, had 7th row seats right at the far left hand side, to the side of my seat was the fenced in VIP area. My friend nudged me and said...very quitely and to keep spectication low..she said, Prince is right next to you. I looked over...sure enuff in black and with a knitted winter hat on, there was Prince. Then I shifted my eyes, very slowly to get glaces..finally I thought to hell with it.. all during this the Fonky Bald Heads were playing, they got to "Pass My Name", which I love and I was grooving, Prince was grooving to..and gave him a head nod, like a hello which he repeated back.. kinda nodded at the band like..they're pretty good huh?? big ole grin, you know the one he gets, then he kinda chin nodded to the stage and gave this look like "watch THIS!!!" and he leaves.. a few seconds later, he's on stage with a guitar adding a few licks to the song..that was pretty cool.

My 2nd encounter was June 2004 at the Musicology Tour at the Xcel Center as well. This time had front row seats. Thru the whole show interacted a LOT with the horn players.. Maceo, Candy, Mike, Greg, the whole crew, were really cool and John Blackwell also used the exit next to us... it was high 5's all night, congratulations and what not... My friend and I noticed the horn section was really getting an energy off our side of the stage... later towards the end, Prince ended an amazing guitar solo right in front of us.. and I said very loud to him.."Thank you".. he pointed at himself with this look like...you're crazy man!!! Which I took as he thought I was weird..then he smiled and pointed up and shook his head yes, as to say...Don't thank me!! Thank God. He knows how damn good he was and he really does seem humble enuff these days to genuinely thank it all to God.

So there are my "conversations" with Prince.

Oh yeah.. also one time in an online interview. I submitted the question asking what was in the time capsules buried underneath the NPG Stores, he replied something about dig them up for yourself and find out.

my best friend Cha Cha in Melbourne Got to spend about an hour with him and 9 other people that paid $1000 to meet him.

She said that he did most of the talkin and had some interesting stories about the gold album.. clear channel (the promoter that broght him out).. wanting to put johovah literature on the seats at the concert.. and music in general...

its amazing what money can buy

Well, at his Seattle stop on his One Nite Alone tour, I ran around to the back door of the theatre before the set ended. I got to see him come out of the theatre, and get into his limo. His body gaurds put up this big, old lookin' quilt in front of him, so the press couldn't get pictures. I was standing a few yards away, and screamed "YOU CHANGED MY LIFE!!!" as he was about to get into the limo. I think he must have heard me because he paused a moment, and turned to my general direction. My heart stopped! Then, he got into the car, and left. *sigh*

While I didn't exactly have a convo with him, a friend of mine new a woman who worked as a flight attendent in Japan in the 90's. She served on a plane that Prince was on, and got to talk to him. I think I just found my new career path! smile
