Ok I LOVE the Beastie Boys but I don't think Prince and the boys from Brooklyn would mesh well. They are just too different. But hey ya never know. Would Prince even wanna work with them considering they are Buddhists?

That's not a bad idea... Or maybe Prince should have worked with them in the 90's.

Actually that´s a very interesting idea, although I´m not a big fan of musical collaborations. I think the Beastie Boys dig purple music and they also understand Funk and HipHop, but who would be doing what musically ? Can´t really imagine them doing domething with Prince, at least not with them singing or rapping, though I really like their own material.
The collabo stuff is kinda played out, but a little bit of roughness would be nice to hear in Prince´s newer output. Compare stuff like Computer Blue his squeaky clean sound and you catch my drift. Then again, they could both come up with something very unexpected, some sonic trip or something, and with their spiritual and political views the lyrics might be interesting as well ( this means both, Prince and the Beastie Boys). Strange thought though. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

That'll be "The in sound from way out" which was a compilation of all of their instrumentals from previous records at the time it came out in 1996 - superb album!! "Sheeeeeeeeit"

In the early '80's, I saw the Beatie Boys get booed off the stage in Houston. They deserved it.

I really don't think that either artist "needs" the other. Collaborations are overrated in my opinion. I would, however, absolutely love to hear Prince collaborate with Streisand on a remake of "Let's Go Crazy". Just imagine it. It would be perfect with Streisand using her upper register singing in perfect, structured vibrato, "I'm not going to let theeee elevator bring us down, oh no, let's gooooo".
Prince would return the favor by playing a scorching guitar on the remake of "Guilty". Hmmmm, that may actually sound pretty nice.
