by far his worst slow song IMO (after God), but it's still
better than most of the songs they play on the local r&b radio station
If you will, so will I

Its my favourite from a bad album, you'll see its 5 star Prince with, lush baroque orchestration, piano soloing and impassioned falsetto and screechy vocal do it 4 me.

She left him 4 a real PRINCE from arabia.

This track is one of the best ballads, maybe only bettered by Adore. I love it.

if you want slow and bad look no further than the Arms of Orion.
I'm testing postive 4 the funk

I love this song. I almost peed my pants when he performed it at the ONA Vegas show. This song takes me on a trip and I get caught up in the music. It's pure bliss I tell you.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Hmmm.....Strange. I appreciate everyones appreciativness of this song, but I don't get it. Maybe I need to listen to it today, to see what I'm missing. I just find it WAY to whiney. But a lot of people seem to love it.

For those who don't get into this track, I hope to shed some light on what really does makes it a classic for me.

I didn't like it the first time I heard it, which often means it's way ahead of me and I have to catch up to it. Condition of the Heart is like a fine wine, improving over the years.

I love the piano intro, and how dramatic and yet quiet the track is.

The melody is just pretty, but the mood is melancholy. The lyrics are quirky and clever. I even like the thought behind the title. Instead of "heart condition" Prince turns the phrase around and makes it more dramatic.

Prince vocal acrobatics on this song are exactly what makes him my favorite vocalist. He's daring. The chances he takes pay off.

The song structure is unusual, as the intro and ending don't sound like the same song, and yet it all works, it all fits.

As I quoted before, "I'm blinded by the daisies in your yard"...that's just an amazing phrase, and probably one of my all time favorite lines written by Prince.

I do love the lyrics in the song.....like you said maybe it's ahead of me. I totally know what you mean when you say that.

BTW my baby girls name is Daisy, and I do love to sing that line to her.

I can't believe it that people knock this song!

I like Prince because he is so unpredictable - I don't know what the next song will sound like (well - used to be back in the day). I remember when I used to buy the albums and read through the lyrics before playing the vinyl. I used to think on what it would sound like and used to g blon away by his arrangments and choice of insturments. Nowadays he is mor like the MJ or the other R&B artists out there. That's why for me Rainbow Children was so good.

All I need now is a re-mastered version!!!
