Maybe he is just a narcissist? In school once I wrote a paper of physical attractivness and I found a few studies that showed that people are attracted to people who look more like them than not. Even something just as similar as hair color or eye color. Alot of people who find themselves good looking I think would find the opposite sex that looks somewhat similar attractive also.
