The Dopamine Rush Suite Is this a Lovesexy outtake? The sound of it reminds me of it, with the sloshy bubbles popping up every now and then in the song.
It doesn't sound half bad. It's a bit long, but it's kinda soothing. I love the bass and the sax. Sounds like Eric Leeds... Any details on this particular track? Ooh, little darlin' if you're

If memory serves me, there r 2 versions: An official release version by Eric Leeds in 1992 and an unreleased Madhouse version. [Edited 11/18/05 18:17pm] Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

I just got done listening to this version from the Jewel Box II collection, so I'm under the impression that it's the Madhouse version.
Anybody know how he might have tried to incorporate this into Lovesexy (if that's what it was intended for)? Ooh, little darlin' if you're

The Dopamine Rush Suite was never intended for Lovesexy. Rather, it was intended to be four of the tracks from Madhouse 24.

The version on Eric Leeds album is very very similar to the Jewell Box II version.

The Dopamine Rush Suite was worked on in December 1988. Lovesexy was released earlier than that so it wasn't an outtake. The trick to listening to the suite is noticing that it was basically the same track spliced together 4 times with different music layed over it. That was a simple way to make one song into four. The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. Well, Prince did start working on it during the Lovesexy tour. "The Dopamine Rush Suite" includes tracks originally intended for the Madhouse 24 album: 21-The Dopamine Rush, 22-Amsterdam, 23-Spanish Eros, and 24-Orgasm. Prince plays everything but the sax which is played by Eric Leeds.
