Forgotten lyrics So I was re-listening to some of my live albums and wondering if Prince has ever forgotten the lyrics to any of his songs while on stage?
Are there any boots with this happening? The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Are there any boots with this happening? yes, he does it quite a bit actually that's why he often places his big lyric books onstage with him the good thing is, he doesn't take himself too seriously when he messes up not that anyone would notice much these days with the many lyric changes he's made

I've seen him in concert 3 times and to the best of my knowledge he didn't forget anything... But with all the concerts and songs he does, I figured he probably had forgotten something at least once... The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

There's a good bit before one of the 1993 shows in Chicago:
Prince (offstage):Ladies and Gentlemen, I regret to inform you that Prince has left the building. Crowd :Whaargh! Prince :If you wish to purchase a refund...wait a minute! You can't PURCHASE a REFUND! Oh, I didn't say that shit! Crowd :Grahaar! There then follows a blistering Gett Off just to show us who's boss.

This has happened many times from the mid 90´s on til today.
I first saw that lyric book during the ´98 tour (Jam Of The Year/New Power Soul Tour) , and from then on, he would always have it somewhere on stage. The strange thing is that these are songs he sings every night so I was a bit surprised to see it. One example that springs to mind is Love Thy Will Be Done, Cologne ´98. He doesn´t really seem to need the lyric book though.Especially not with the new material. I often wonder whether this has anything to do with his diet or just the huge amount of songs he´s written over the years. There was this female singer in her mid 20´s who kept forgetting her lyrics as well until a doctor examined her and told her she needed to eat meat, at least some fish, and shortly after she started eating fish again her memory got better.True story. I used to be a ovo-lacto vegetarian from 1999-2003 but started eating fish again before I started with my thesis paper after a long talk with my (ex-vegetarian) professor. But I don´t want to stray away from the main topic here. PS: Kate Bush, also a former vegetarian, started eating fish again after almost 25 years of a vegetarian lifestyle. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
