Raphael Saadiq

Did Raphael Saadiq (of Tony! Toni! Tone! fame) play bass for Prince on his 1986 Parade Tour. I read this on the music choice channel pop-ups on the side of the screen.

Also, did Raphael Saadiq by any chance play the soundtrack LP or any others around that period.

No

Brown Mark played bass for Prince on the tour.

Raphael didn't play on any Prince album.

The suggestion that he played bass for Prince when he was 18 on the Parade tour is also mentioned here:

Yahoo and the BBC claim that the tour took place in 1984:

Then again - in 1989 when he is reported as being 17!! - he apparently managed to usurp Levis Seacer and play bass for Prince in Japan whilst touring Lovesexy:

Saadiq was a part of Sheila E's 1986 touring band and he had a few opportunities to play on Prince's tour when Sheila guested with him. He and a few of the other Tony Toni Tone band members can be heard singing background vocals on Sheila E's "Love on A Blue Train"
