Emancipation, Disc 3 Despite being initially very indifferent to the last disc on Emancipation, I'm really digging it right now - It's nothing revolutionary, but I'm loving New World, The Human Body, Sleep Around, and My Computer. Really, this one's far more consistently interesting than the first disc of the set, to me at least.
What do you guys think? And I'm aware of the thrashing that Emancipation gets in some circles, so feel free to thrash away.

I like New World, The Human Body, Face Down, and The Love We Make. I feel like I could like My Computer but the fact it actually samples AOL sound clips is so shit-eatingly corny that it makes me want to blow my brains out. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

Personally... I think "Style" sucks dead man's ass... one of the very few songs in P's catalogue that I consistently skip...

disc 3 is my favorite from 'emancipation' - it just seems the most colorful and energetic to me.

I agree,Disc 3 is a mixed bag.I tend to skip over the hip-hop sounding tracks ("La Da Da"..."Face Down",etc),but I love "The Human Body","My Computer" and a few other songs.

Disc III has some great songs, but it's way too inconsistent and plastic sounding. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Disc 3 would have been a great album!!! Fun & Funky tunes and a good ballad(The love we..) Don't like the One of Us cover though,it starts off good but don't like the way he sings the refrain Love4oneanother

Big co-sign. All the covers on Emancipation really hurt it. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Emancipation is my favorite release from Prince and the era itself as well. My favorite is the 1st cd, but I love all 3. U made some great choices. In my opinion cd 2 is more mature music and deep.

It's my favorite too. I love it when Prince does dance music and this disc had lots of it. The only song I didn't like was "La La La Means I Love U". The worst Prince cover EVER. Everything else was awesome. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Totally agree. but I liked Betcha By Golly Wow! I think he did the song justice. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

disc 2 is the one I find myself consistently listening to. I didn't even remember that some of those songs were on disc 3, now I have to go and listen to it

Personally, I like the album as a whole, with conditions of course.
The first disk, I play when I wanna groove. The second disk, I play when I wanna chill. Finally, the last disk is when I wanna pary house music style. There are those who say that they album is incorherent, that is is all over the place.....I look at it as his way of playing tribute to the different musical styles of that era. I especially love his spin on "house music". Sleep around, the Human Body, really groove.
