I have recently heard a remake of "Baby I'm A Star" from Purple Rain. I cannot figure out who did this. Someone told me they thought it was Tina Turner, but I cannot find it anywhere. This is one of my favorite songs and I thought it would be fun to put the two versions together. Does anyone have any idea who did the remake? Thanks!!

I think part of Tina's version of it was in a Target commercial or something. She's also performed Let's Pretend Were Married in concert as well.Neither song by TT was a studio version that I'm aware of.

i think the tina turner "baby i'm a star" was on an EP that was exclusively available at target a couple of years back.

It was rumored around 2000-2001 that Prince was remaking all the songs from Purple Rain, and in the Hit & Run Tour he played a very, very short medley of I Would Die 4 U and Baby, I'm A Star, and it was radically different than the original, and almost more exciting. I never heard it again, so I wonder what happened to the plans.

This version is SO weird!
