The Author has an agenda. Like any author he places the pieces of 'information' he has to fit his argument.

I think with the recent 'Musicology' tour it is blatantly obvious Prince will not dissapear with 'only his hardcore fans' to follow him. The tour was amazingly successful.

People will always be interested in Prince. His legacy is won, not in doubt.

Just look at how someone like Ricky Gervais wants Prince on his show as reported this week. That might seem a small thing, but it is actually quite significant.

Also some more informed here have questioned the credibility of some of Hahns sources.

I'd read the book but keep an objective view about it.

Besides he needs to re-write and update in view of 2004's developments and I understand he is in the process of doing that.

I've read "Possessed" and I thought it was a good book. Yes, it's not 100% flattering of Prince but face it, nobody is perfect. As for 2004 proving that Hahn is wrong (in concluding that Prince is basically just playing to his harcore fanbase), we'll have to wait and see how future releases and tours are received (esp. if done without album giveaway or "last time to hear the hits!" gimmicks). IMHO the jury is still out on this one.

Or maybe I, too, am just too obtuse and narrow-minded to Understand Prince.
