Sonny T and Michael B recording with Prince I met Sonny T and Michael B at LA airport on Tuesday night after a flight from Minneapolis. They'd just been working with Prince at Paisley Park. They were both were really friendly guys. Sonny said he thought the new material they were recording was "the best stuff he [Prince] had ever done". New album is on the way, then.

I saw the Wonder Twins and they said the Superfriends were reuniting to foil the evil plans of the Legion of Doom!!
Except they couldn't get ahold of Black Vulcan.

Oh my God!!! I will lose my mind if this happens. That would be too hot to see the Power Trio come back together. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

They have already recorded all together a few months ago. I hope what you say is ture mate. Il n'y a pas de sentiment plus exaltant que celui d'appartenir à une nation si diverse, si libre et si douée pour le bonheur.

I like how people assume an album is on the way because he's been recording with some old friends. HE RECORDS ALL THE TIME! Therefore, an album must be on the way every day of the year!
A new album - or more tracks for the vault? As Kevin Smith said, what's he saving it all for? So when the world goes up, we'll still have music?!

Maybe, maybe, JUST MAYBE, he will drop a whole damn lot of stuff on us sometime soon. Maybe.
BTW, when did you meet them? I thought Prince wasn't even in Minneapolis? Or when was this Maxim party?

I just wished he stopped recording the best stuff he ever did, as it never gets released... Roadhouse Garden was the best stuff he ever recorded with the Revolution; The Dawn was the best stuff he recorded on his own.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I'm travelling and have been in Fiji for the last couple of weeks. I'm not making it up. This happened on, I think, the 17th October. Sonny wasn't sure - or wasn't saying - if he would be touring with Prince but he told me Prince wasn't wokring with Rhonda any more.
I overheard sonny say he was a musician in the airport bar in MPLS and when I was having a smoke outside the airport I asked him about it. He told me a few of the people he'd worked with but I didn't twig who he was until he told me he'd been working with Prince for 15 years and he told me his name was Sonny. I can assure you it was him. And Michael B is pretty unmistakeable.

It was rather mediocre material, them songs that made it out there. And only live or rehearsel versions. Not really promising sounding material. It is great to hear and all, and I would love to have studio versions or good quality versions of the ones out there already, but to hail them as 'the best stuff he ever recorded with The Revolution' is a rather bold statement. I would say 'interesting'.

Forget Micheal Bland and Sonny T.!! I love Rhonda!
And where the funk is Tommy Barbarella? His hair alone was cooler than those 2 If you will, so will I

Altough it can be a rumour, I saw this news somewhere else...it would be cool to see them playing again, even if only for one project.
