Will 3121 have decent album art? 'Te Amo Corazon' has a nice sleeve design, I just hope the '3121' album has something equally considered. No bad photoshop crap (ala Musicology)!
Remember when Laura Lipuma designed most of the single releases that reflected the album art? Look at 'Purple Rain', 'Sign O' the Times', 'Parade', 'Lovesexy'. I think the strong graphic style that accompanied Prince's music did a lot to establish his image and presence. Downloads or not, Prince, could do with re-establishing a new, strong graphic identity to accompany and package his current musical direction. PLEASE, PLEASE, please get a quality design this time! I'd love to see someone like Inez & Vinoodh, Howard Schatz or Anton Corbijn amongst others produce the art/photography. Anyone got any other suggestion? | |

Good thread. I miss those Laura LiPuma designs as well. The last half decent album and single covers were from 1992, and even then they were kinda cheap because most of the pics were vidcaps.

um to put it poiltely...no. I have yet to see good artwork come out of his camp in over a decade. I will say The video at least goes against the usual rules of "cheap ass looking videos" so there is a ray of hope. Christian Zombie Vampires | |
