I've always had a thing about the relationship between Prince and Vanity...
And about the "shoot me up, baby" lyrics I think he was singing about a girl (Vanity? ) and I think wanted to shock people with it because it sounds like it is about drugs or maybe that girl was like a drug to him...
But I'm not saying he never took drugs eveyone experiments don't they?

I agree totally. The reason why folks disagreee is because it's so obvious. But your theory sounds plausible to me. Purple Rain was written about Denise Matthews...
