For You Appreciation thread I was just listening to the For You album, and particularly Just As Long As We're Together, So Blue and I'm Yours (but really the whole album), and was re-realizing, if you will, how good this album was, and how much it, along with the next album, kind of set the stage for Dirty Mind (though DM is radically different, hints of this album are all throughout the first tow albums.

i have been listening to this album a LOT over the past week or so. i've had this album in one form or another for over twenty years, and i feel like i'm just now getting to really know and appreciate it. there are some fantastic songs on here. | |

For You needs a Appreciation Thread. It was our first look, listen, and feel of Prince. For You was a sneak peek 4 what was 2 come in the future. It is 1 of my favorite albums by Prince, I listen 2 it alot and will continue. Crazy U is my favorite song on the album, cuz it's very cool, like a tropical breeze. It features water drums. Also My Love Is Forever, Soft And Wet, Just As Long As We're Together, I'm Yours. Basically the whole album. Some people think I'm kinda cute

It's so weird that this thread popped up when it did...seriously, I've been on SUCH a "For You" kick lately - I've been paying more attention to the music than I ever have. It's hard to believe this is the same person who got all avant garde and nasty on 1999, but it's also hard to believe the same guy who made 1999 made Musicology...listening to "For You" really puts everything he's done since in perspective...for me it does, anyway. | |

It's not bad. Crazy You and Baby are truly great songs. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
