20 year Anniversary of the Revolution demise 2006 (9/9/06) will mark 20 years since the break up. Is this what Prince is waiting for to do the reunion thing?
As long as it's not the only thing he does in 2006 ...

Unless there's a low-key NPGMC release, I seriously doubt we'll hear anything new from Prince in 2005. I'm loving the fact that this is a unique period in Prince's musical career right now. It's nearly two years since his last non-internet release and it's a surprisingly long time for him. Prince is unique, his music is unique and his music release schedules are unique. I've had other things to do in my life since Musicology and I haven't been pining that much. But I'm still so eager to see what he's doing next. Maybe he's working on something that we can't even think about right now. A huge box-set of unreleased music? WB remasters with extra tracks? Wanting to have time away from his music and spend time with his wife? I know we'll get new music from Prince sometime, in the same way I know that the sun will rise tomorrow. But right now there's clearly a reason why Prince isn't releasing music. A 20th anniversary Revolution reunion has crossed my mind before now as I'd imagine it has crossed everybody else's... But ultimately, if it happens or if it doesn't, we know that we'll get some new Prince music at some point. And compared to some other artists' time-scale, we don't do too badly. So Prince has decided to take a year off? Good on him, it's about time.
