- Believe me, I tried, but my fave file sharing program doesn´t have it. And living in South America makes things harder to get Cd-Rs and such PS: free the music was never supposed to be synonymous with free music (as in free of charge).
- I agree. As an artist myself, I believe artists should be paid. I bought every Prince album I could. I BOUGHT all the "slave" albums (his stuff from 78-97), and the official recordings released after that. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the original Cds, with booklets, etc. Mp3 are fine if u can´t have the Cds or want to listen on IPod or PC. "Free the music" should mean that the music is ACCESSIBLE...if it isn´t, I will try to find it my way. I don´t want to wait for him to die to get the stuff (like they do with Hendrix and Elvis)

That would be like wasting time laquering wood before throwing it on the bonfire! Does seem illogical, but how else do you destroy cds on a mass scale? Trash compactor might miss a few at the bottom, being so thin... employing someone to damage them might take days if there were thousands to go through... burning them might give off toxic funes... I always found it to be strange that they were coated versus drilling or punching holes. That said, I believe that after the coating process, they were simply thrown out... well, most of them . If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Drilling or punching is still intensive in man-hours - and it still might leave a few songs that could be read either side of the holes! See, it really is hard to destroy those suckas en masse! You ever see that episode of Futurama where there is a moon-sized ball of everyday garbage made up mostly of AOL disks!
