Has anyone ordered a copy of this unofficial yet amazingly informative book on Prince lately? Better yet, has anyone who ordered it recently gotten their copy?

I'm wondering how hard it is to come by this book these days. I ordered my copy when it first came out and it lives comfortably on my bookshelf next to "The Complete David Bowie" (the Bowie version of 'The Vault'), but I'm always interested in knowing when I own something that's become rare or out of print...is it still being sold online?

yes. in fact, they're gonna release an updated version of the book sometime next year.

well, i know the order page is still up, but i've also heard people complaining about ordering it this year and not getting their copies....though maybe those people finally DID get their 'vaults' and it's all good.

if they're looking for proofreaders and copy editors for the next edition (which i would STRONGLY recommend), i know a good guy who knows his stuff and works cheep.

I have yet 2 recieve mine that I ordered and paid for 3 1/2 months ago, They state on their website should ship no longer than 8 weeks, and I e-mailed them over a month ago and have gotten no response, and I don't think this is limited 2 The Vault as I've heard some have not received back issues they ordered months ago, Uptown has always been good about orders in the past,that I have placed, so I'm not sure what the problem is now.

they said they sent me another copy six months ago and it never came. i told them but no reply

Seem to be hearing a few of these 'I never got my copy' stories lately. I hope Uptown can rectify this, it doesn't mesh with any experience I've ever had of ordering direct from them, books or magazines.

For people wanting it, but weary of going direct, you can always try Madhouse Music, they sell copies.

I'm still waiting for mine too.

I just can't figure out why they would still accept payments if there is a problem. Not to mention that they haven't responded to the 3 or 4 emails I've sent them (Starting in AUGUST).

Either way, I've still got patience left in me. I just hope I actually get the thing. If anyone hears anything, please fill me, and others, in on the info.

I ordered mine months ago and waited and waited. I emailed uptown and asked when it would be shipped. Per emailed me back and said that he had some shipping problems but he would send me a signed copy. I got it a couple of days later and am very happy with it.
