Prince & The Revolution?

They were one of the most if not the most influential bands of th the 80's.
Should they get back for a reunion?

To be honest, I don't think they were one of the most influential bands of the '80s. Sure, I loved the music they made, and I think I was lucky to see them all before the split. When people look back, I think they will always think 'Prince' as being the influence in musical terms (regardless of what contributions other individual band members and the band as a whole may have made).

Reunion?

It was fun to see Bobby, Matt and Mark perform with Prince in 2000, and it would have been great to have seen Wendy and Lisa on stage too with him for a happy 5 minutes. But I'm not desperate to see it for anything more than a brief dose of nostalgia.

The Revolution did have a reunion. It was in Los Angeles at the Forum in December 2003 - it was called The Family Jamm. Sheila E organized it.

Those pictures paint quite a reality check, dontcha think?

It furthers the notion that Prince is, indeed, an alien.

Well I think that Prince and The Revolution broke culture barriers and blurred racial lines with the perfect mix of Dance, R&B and Rock. They were all over every chart on Billboard. I too saw them 3 times and walked away from the shows awestruck and inspired. There was a mysteriousness to them and the dark edge definately worked to their advantage. The songs weren't default throw aways like they seem to be now. Everything sounds very "cutting room floor" these days.
They sounded CLASSIC and still to this day sound ahead of their time. You're right about the dose of nostalgia, but The Revolution was cut off without any real closure. Kinda like The Police. Now look at Sting these days...a VH1 Icon. Whooopppeeee.

And with age comes wisdom, can u c that Prince is looking the blackest he has since his teens. He obviously has got over his nearly white Kisss phase, 4 47 he still looks youngish I feel. At the rate he goes he should live to 80.
