How much "work" would it be to actually release music on his website. He's got the techies there to co-ordinate it all.

I think we'll get an album on NPGMC as a download before the end of the year. Or perhaps on Dec. 31st. Or perhaps even on Jan. 1st (like Xpectation), as a joke for all the people who are mad he hasn't released an album in 2005. In fact, I'd be more surprised if we don't get anything than if we do.

i was thinking the same thing, an album on 12/31 just so there is one released this year...LOL

well, it could just be that he doesn't wanna post new music. i mean, he did the katrina song on short notice because he wanted to raise money for hurricane relief. maybe there are business reasons that we're not privy to that keep him from releasing the amount of new tracks that we'd like him to share. i used to hold prince to task for not constantly barraging us with new music, but i'm coming to realize there's most likely a lot more to the story than we're willing or able to grasp. i have a lot of prince stuff, authorized and otherwise...there's some of it i haven't even listened to. i'm not wanting for much where he's concerned.

I find it amazingly odd that he fought so bitterly to be free and for what? To have the ability to do what he wants and then does practically nothing with his freedom. If "business" factors are driving his choice not to release a lot of music....maybe the record company was right.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. He wanted to be able to release albums more frequently without getting hassled by the record label but, now that he's no longer with a label he's releasing even less music. hmmm

Isn't it standard fare in the industry
after a BIG release BIG tour and overexposure ....the next year you go into hiding...?

" this is a bin-ness muthafuka ...and U ain't to far gone to see dat "

He's never been overexposed or overrated. If anything he is always underrated and underexposed.

Would u consider 2004 "overexposure"?
Not for our insatiable palates, but for typical big artists.

I agrre with your other post but I just want more music PERIOD. I always hoped for more than 1 CD per year.

Anything else doesnt matter, obviously he is free to cater to his own wind.

No. I consider 2004 expose for a change. I consider 2004 "the recognize year"
Finally Prince getting recognized and getting props for all these years of blessing us with talent instead of giving to these no-talent mofos that are out today.

There's nothing wrong with you wanting to hear more music, but Prince will give us that, but on his time, not our time. He never disappointed us before when he would release an album and a tour every year, but last year he gave us the top-selling tour last year and a lesson on how a live show should be. Of all people he deserves a break. Making real music takes time sometimes, give him that and he won't disappoint you.

How do you know that he is not doing nothing! Are you around him 24/7. Does he call you up and say I aint doin' nothin'. That's what freedom is all about. The freedom to record as much as he wants and not as much as he wants. When he is ready to come out with something else he will. He always does.

The man is married and almost 50. We not gonna get the same Prince we got back in the 80's/90's when he was in his 20's and 30's. But he has recording enough music where if he died today he would be the next hardest working dead man in show business like Tupac because he stayed in the studio. "Business" factors ain't got nothing to do with it. I repeat. Leave him the hell alone!
