DEMOS VOL 3 "RIGHT EYE"

I just found this bootleg at the local used CD store.

1. Extra Lovable
2. Possessed
3. A Better Place to Die
4. Turn It Up #1
5. Turn It Up #2
6. U Call Me
7. Irresistable Bitch (sic)
8. Fuck It Up Jam
9. I Wish You Heaven Jam
10. Cross the Line

Does anyone know anything about these cuts? I guess the last three are from 1988, and I think the first tune is from the "1999" sessions, but I'd like to know more. Anyone else have this one?

This is from a series of v.v.old bootleg releases, Cheek, Mouth and Right Eye.

These are mainly 1999-era out-takes, except for the last 3 tracks.

Track 8 and 9 are from a 1988 Lovesexy pre-tour rehersals (according to a battered old copy of Per Nilsen's A Documentary)

Track 10, The Line was recorded for Lovesexy, but replaced by I Wish U Heaven.

Track 3 is correctly titled, "Moonbeam Levels" (Shows the age of the compilation).

Track 6 is correctly titled "No Call U"

There is a 'Left Eye' too - but it is the most obvious 1987 and 1988 live performances on bootleg.

The titles refer to the images on the reverse of the CD - each is a quarter of an image of Prince's face. If you have all 4 you get the extra bonus of the entire mugshot. The things bootleggers do to appeal to completists!

I had a taped copy of Moonbeam Levels about 7 years ago and played it for around a week non-stop. I lost the tape soon after, but thaat song is still stuck in my head.

The opening line "Yesterday I tried to write a novel / but I didn't know where to begin / so I just lay down on the ground / feeling the world turn" is absolute GENIUS.

I really love to have a copy of this song.
