Prince "The Lake House" Soundtrack It is a new film coming out in 2006, starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. It is said to be a remake of the latin film "Il Mare." Latin film = Latin Music. And that seems to be what he has been working on.
So forget "3121" | |

3121 is an assumption on everybodies part. Do we really know that there was/is such an album? I don't think so!

Source? This appears to be just a rumour, and nothing more. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

There was an album project of that name, but that doesn't mean that Prince didn't change his mind. Remember the High album? Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Il Mare isnt a Latin film anyway. It was a Korean film. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

The movie is produced by a Warner Bros. company and due to be distributed by a Warner Bros. company. So, it seems very unlikely.

I don't post anything without some level of sixth-sense certainty. I have been an orger for a VERY long time and have only made a handf1ul of posts. Through the internet, I have done a great deal of research.
Also, Jedi Master, perhaps we are kindred spirits, because the only thing I love as much as Prince is Star Wars! May the force be with U, my friend. Yes, orgers, I am a SW geek, but I'm a geek with a gorgeous wife and 3 beautiful kids. Honestly, doesn't a geek lives in all of us? Peace and b wild!

I think that he's in good terms with Warner now, last year there was a Prince interview on the WB website, a Prince/WB official reconciliation would be spectacular!

“70 Million dollars, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock in the main roles, music composed especially by Prince, Warner Bros production. What more could Alejandro Agresti ask for?” This the opening paragraph from an article written by Pablo O. Scholz that came out of an interview he conducted with the film’s director. The film is “Lake House”, an American remake of the Korean film “Siworae”; or “Il Mare” if you prefer the international title and also the original working title of this film. The Latin link being brought up here is Alejandro Agresti, the film’s director, who is originally from Argentina. The interview with Agresti took place during pre-production of the film back in December of 2004 and the movie has now already been wrapped in Chicago and is currently in post-production. The “music composed especially by Prince” part could’ve been a simple misunderstanding on the part of the writer/interviewer or a mistake in the translation to English. It also could’ve been written before Prince was secured for this project or before he dropped out. Jeremy Irons was apart of this film when the article was written and he has since been replaced. Or Prince may indeed be writing the original music for this film scheduled for release next February. And if Prince is working on the music I don’t think it’s a terribly wild leap to connect a video he’s making with Salma Hayek and this film being made by Alejandro Agresti. Hollywood in some respects is a very small town and certainly Salma Hayek at the very least is well aware of a new Latin filmmaking voice being signed to a huge Warner Bros. contract. They certainly may know each other and Agresti may have asked Hayek to direct a music video for a Prince-composed song that will appear in his movie. I’m just doing some extrapolation here based on very little data. We’ll find out the real truth shortly enough as more information is released about this big-budget mainstream American film. We’re all aware of Prince’s manic prolificacy and so it’s probably even more likely that this video with Salma is something completely unrelated to this film and just 1 of 3 or 4 different projects he’s juggling right now. The high-heeled son of a bitch gets around, doesn’t he? Brendan [Edited 10/12/05 23:01pm]

I found a second source, so this is now good enough for the New York Times.
See post above on 10/12 for the original source and for a description of this project. This new source appears to come from a March 21st piece that is quoting the film's director, Alejandro Agresti. This is over 3 months later than the previous piece that mentioned Prince involvement in this film. From what I can garner from this small piece written in Portuguese is that Prince will be doing some original songs for the film and that Paul M van Brugge -- Agresti's longtime musical collaborator -- will be doing the film's original score. The Paul M van Brugge part is confirmed by IMDB. Here is the very rough translation of the original piece written in Portuguese. Someone that knows Portuguese could really help clear things up with a better translation. Music of Prince Agresti - I am talking with Prince, that will compose subjects for the film especially - said - we are talking on the climate, to arrive at a more specific work. For What! Prince? Agresti - the studio wants to have original music, sung subjects, and I, by other reasons, am connected it. Incidental music will be of Paul M van Brugge, with who Agresti worked in ten of its films.
