I'm Yours

Listened to this song for the first time in a couple of years last night. Pretty damn good for a 19-year old. What do you all think?

I really dig this song and the whole "For You" album indeed. "I'm Yours" was a perfect example 4 what was 2 come in the future musically 4 Prince.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

It ties 4 U 2 gether, its well constructed and melodic and bouncy, but overall to Prince songs of the same genre its only a starter. Much better is the cute pop Prince was a master at in his 1st 2 albums. In Love and Soft and Wet are the album winners there sorry.
Still not bad overall.

The raw intensity and energy of this tune gets me everytime. This is a jewel of Prince's early work and displays a musical genius at a very young age. That trademark sound, the wailing guitar, this is the kind of song that won't let me sit down. woot!

- "In love" is the song I dislike most...I think "So blue" has a nice melody, "Soft and wet" is cool, and the jam in "I´m yours" is superb. I just wished he didnt sing that one in falsettos...

Ah, I love the instrumental jam in "Just as long..."

Yeah "In Love" sounds like something you would hear playing in a doctor's office in the late 70's.

I love the whole CD. I'm Yours is 1 of may favorites and I wish he would do more like it. When I heard Prince was making a a rock CD (Chaos & Disorder), I thought finally. But there was nothing as hard as 'I'm Yours' or 'Bambi'. Close runners like 'I Like It There' & 'Zannalee'

May B , but its got the most memorable lyrics in the album. I don't dislike I'm Yours, but just like other songs better. Only So Blue is the only song about 4 U I don't like so much. Incredibly this album has a consistency to it, other later albums may lack. Its a very tight set, and the structure and quality of playing is great 4 a 19 year old.

I really like the title track on that album. I still have to get that one but from what I remember I really like how he set up the title track and then it goes right into In love. I don't think I really remember i'm yours.
"Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

It shocked me years later when re-listened to it and realized how good he was even back then. That's a pretty cool bass solo...he was obviously showing off his skills on that one.

Loved it.. and yes, I wouldn't mind hearing him do that without the falsetto..

That one should have been a single!
